The season of advent is traditionally in the Church a time of waiting. But what are we waiting for? We are not
like the people of Israel who two thousand years ago, waited in anticipation of the messiah. Jesus has come; he
is with us now. yet, as always with a generous, loving God, there is more to come; more love; more relationship;
more of God to experience and to share.
We wait for the more knowing that something of what we wait for is already in our midst, that as we wait for
God, God is waiting for us; God is waiting with us.
This waiting extends into every circumstance of our daily lives. The God who loves us is waiting with us in it all;
waiting in the good times and in the bad.
What are you waiting for? Why not spend some time this advent thinking and praying about the things you long
for and those you miss. Why not join us as we use the Sunday gospels and daily reflections as ways of
remembering that God is in our loss and longing. Good and bad, ups and downs; God is waiting with us in it all.
